It’s that time of the year when the largest annual International South Asian festival: Masala! Mehndi! Masti! starts accepting Artist Submissions.

MMM Summer 2011 Curatorial Statement:
“Masala! Mehndi! Masti! is a celebration of incredibly diverse South Asian and South Asia inspired culture. As a “Dor/Dhaga/Thread”, Masala! Mehndi!Masti! ties and binds diverse parts of the culture, connecting and creating continuity, while not compromising the uniqueness of each part. It pulls and draws each element closer to the other or creates a link between them all. Sacred Threads abound in the day to day life of South Asians, and this
festival weaves cultural threads that are just as powerful and important in many ways. Can these special threads bind and create peace between cultures that are for some reason flashpoints due to their differences? MMM explores and celebrates our differences, spinning and weaving a fantastic cultural thread around us all!”
