MASALA! MEHNDI! MASTI! & LUMINATO PRESENT “LIGHT ON YOUR FEET: BOLLYWOOD DIVAS”
Masala! Mehndi! Masti! continued its 10th aMMMazing anniversary celebrations by teaming up for the 3rd year with Luminato, Toronto’s incredible creativity and arts festival. at Dundas Square on June 14, 2010 for a FREE concert.
Headlined by Bollywood’s rising star songstress Suzanne D’Mello of ‘Kites in the Sky’ fame from the movie Kites (*ing Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori) as well as AR Rahman’s compositions in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, and songs in Dhoom 2, Ghajini, Partner, Singh is King and so many others. Despite last minute visa issues she made it to Toronto and hand audiences eating out of her hands as she belted, crooned and rocked the night with musical flair, rarely seen here. Also on the line-up was Toronto’s very own Desi Diva Bageshree Vaze who performed a bevy of her original songs and interspersed them with Kathak dance and was accompanied by Canadian tabla virtuoso Vineet Vyas. Tarana Dance Company, Kama Entertainment and Diyas Arts & Entertainment all performed to a multitude of popular Bollywood hits and had audience members making commendable efforts to match step to step and move to move! A brilliant night, superbly attended and many memories were made and carried home.
